B/S Brace Solution The nail technician is able to correct and remedy the abnormal curvature of the nail with the use of the revolutionary B/S Brace procedure, developed by the Berndt Stolz Company in Germany. The system was developed as a non-surgical solution for painful toenails over 25 years ago by the German chiropodist Berndt Stolz. The system has evolved into a modern day nail treatment that is not only easy to apply but safe for all clients including diabetics and seniors. Nail bracing is a corrective technique illustrated in, Figure 1. The tension of the brace changes the shape of the abnormally curved nail back to its original, natural shape. The greater the distance between the nail and the brace (see figure 1 and 2) prior to application, the greater the tension asserted to the nail. This is accomplished with the use of a fiberglass-enhanced Duroplast brace. The B/S Brace technique is applied to toenails that are prone to being ingrown or involuted, causing pressure or discomfort to the client. It can take as little time as one day to bring relief, and over a period of several months, can correct the problem.
